The Austin History Center displayed the photo exhibit, "Pioneers from the East: First Chinese Families in Austin" from April 27 to October 17, 2010. The exhibit highlighted the history of some of the first Chinese individuals and families who settled in Austin. A reception, in partnership with the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce, took place on May 12, 2010 along with a program to honor the five families. Following the program, attendees enjoyed a tour of the Austin History Center and viewed the archives of the five families. All of the featured photographs were selected from the Asian American archival collection at the Austin History Center and are now showcased in an online photo exhibit . In addition, the photo exhibit is available to partnering organizations or institutions to borrow for display.
