Family Home of Richmond Kelley Smoot Dr. R. K. Smoot performed the wedding ceremony between William Sydney Porter and Athol Estes on July 1, 1887 in the parlor of the house which was designed by Dr. Smoot and build in 1877. The home is constructed of hand-made bricks from the Butler Brick Company which was at that time located at the mouth of Barton Creek.
