Obtaining Permission
Possession of an Austin History Center image does not constitute permission to use it.

Permission must be requested in writing for uses other than research, teaching, and private study.

Print out the Reproduction Order Form, complete it and mail it to the History Center at the mailing address shown below in advance of using the images.

To secure permission to publish or display the resources of the Austin History Center, the Reproduction Order Form must be used, even if you are downloading images from the Austin History Center Web site.

Terms of Use
The materials on this Web site are available for use in research, teaching, and private study. Teachers and students have permission to download images for classroom use, on the condition that proper attribution of the source, including the photo identification number, Austin History Center, Austin Public Library, is given beneath each image. Copyright of Austin History Center Materials
The nature of archival materials and collections makes it sometimes difficult to determine information about copyright or other information about restrictions. Physical ownership and copyright ownership are not the same. Although Austin History Center may have physical ownership of the materials, the Austin History Center may not own the copyright.

Materials from the Austin History Center are generally available for use in research, private study, and teaching pursuant to U.S. Copyright law.
